Firebreak Land Co.

Terms of Service

These terms govern use of this website and the services provided by Firebreak Land Co. Related: Privacy Policy and Prepare Your Property.

Each section below states our operating policy in plain language.

1. Intellectual Property & Recording of Meetings

Site visits, calls, and video meetings may be recorded for accuracy of scope and quality control. Site plans, drawings, and proposals remain Firebreak Land Co. property.

2. Estimates Are Preliminary

Calculator ranges and verbal figures are preliminary. No price is binding until a written contract is executed by both parties.

3. Right to Re-Quote or Withdraw

Conditions materially different from those described (density, terrain, ground conditions, access, buried obstructions) allow Firebreak Land Co. to re-quote or withdraw before work begins.

4. Media Rights

Firebreak Land Co. may photograph and film work in progress and completed results for marketing use, excluding identifying address information on request.

5. Site Preparation

The property owner is responsible for removing or marking metal, wire, fencing, utilities, septic components, private underground lines, and other hazards before the crew arrives.

6. Pricing Basis

Work is priced by the working day, not by the hour. The daily rate is set by the conditions of the specific property; the number of days is set by the area to be cleared and the density of that cover.

  • 6.1 Daily rate range. Daily rates run from $2,500 to $6,500 per working day. The rate applicable to a project is determined by brush density, terrain grade, ground conditions, and site access, and is stated in the written contract.
  • 6.2 One-day minimum. Every mobilization carries a one-day minimum at the applicable daily rate, covering up to 8 hours on site. Properties that can be completed in less than one day are billed as one full day.
  • 6.3 Duration. Estimated duration is derived from billable acreage divided by the production rate for the observed density. Acreage is billed in 0.25-acre increments, rounded up.
  • 6.4 Stem diameter. Stem diameter is recorded for equipment and planning purposes and is not a pricing factor.
  • 6.5 Ranges. Published estimate ranges reflect ±15% around the computed figure and are preliminary until contract execution.
  • 6.6 Site visits. Projects of 10 acres or more are quoted from an on-site assessment rather than the online calculator.
  • 6.7 Estimate fees. On-site estimates are provided at no charge for properties within approximately 20 minutes' drive of our base of operations. Beyond that radius, an in-person estimate carries a $500 fee, which is credited in full toward the contract price if the project is booked. Digital (virtual meeting) estimates are provided at no charge in all service areas, subject to the current-media requirements stated in the booking terms.

7. Payment Terms

Deposits are 50% for jobs under 3 days and 25% for 3+ day jobs, with balance due on completion. Balance invoices are due on receipt; amounts unpaid after 10 calendar days accrue 1.5% per month. ACH is the default method for balance invoices; card payment on a balance invoice carries a disclosed 3% processing surcharge.

8. Unsafe Site & Mobilization Minimum

If the site cannot be worked safely on arrival, a mobilization minimum equal to 50% of the project's daily rate — and in no case less than $1,000 — is billed, and the remaining deposit is returned. Resolving the condition and rescheduling within 60 days applies a $500 credit toward the project.

9. Digital Execution & Record Retention

Contracts are executed electronically and remotely in advance of work. Executed documents, signature audit trails, and payment records are retained for a minimum of 7 years and reissued to the customer on request.
