Before we roll out
Prepare Your Property
A mulcher moving at working speed turns hidden metal and wire into flying debris and broken equipment. Before the crew arrives, walk your property and remove or clearly mark everything below. Flagging tape, spray paint, or a stake works — anything we can see from the seat.
Metal of any kind
- Scrap metal, sheet metal, roofing panels
- Appliances, vehicle parts, implements
- Chain, cable, wire rope, guy wire
- Wire fencing — including wire grown into tree trunks
- Barbed wire and electric fence wire
- Fence posts of all types and remnant fence lines
Utilities & underground
- Survey markers and property pins
- Wells, cisterns, septic tanks, lids, and lateral lines
- Irrigation lines and invisible pet fencing
- Buried electrical, water, gas, and communication lines
- Culverts, drain tile, and drainage structures
Obstructions & debris
- Concrete, masonry, foundations, slab remnants
- Tires, glass, dump sites, buried refuse
- Stumps, boulders, rock outcroppings
Things to protect
- Beehives, animal enclosures, tree stands, structures
- Landscaping and any tree or feature to be preserved
Indiana 811 covers public utilities only. Private lines to outbuildings, wells, septic systems, irrigation, and pet fencing are the property owner's responsibility to locate and mark.
If we can't work safely, we'd still rather work.
When we roll out, we've already committed the day — crew, equipment, fuel, insurance, and a calendar slot we turned other work away for. If we arrive and the site isn't safe to cut, we bill a mobilization minimum of half your daily rate (at least $1,000) and return the rest of your deposit.
But we'd much rather do the job. Get the issue resolved and reschedule within 60 days, and we put $500 of that back toward your project.
We'll show you exactly what needs fixing before we leave, with photos. Most of the time it's a fence line nobody knew was there, and it's a one-afternoon fix.
Our goal is a cleared property, not a cancellation fee.
